Sand Harbor turns into an open-air theater every summer, and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival's 54th season gives July and August a pretty strong reason to linger after sunset.

This year's mainstage lineup pairs Macbeth, Shakespeare's tragedy about ambition gone wrong, with The Heart of Robin Hood, a swashbuckling, family-friendly adventure story. Both shows run in rotation on the Shakespeare Stage at Sand Harbor, with performances on scheduled nights at 7:30 PM.

The tradition here is as much about the setting as the show. If your seating section allows it, bring a picnic, build in time to arrive, settle in, and watch the light change over the lake before the actors even take the stage.

Where: Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, 2005 Highway 28, Incline Village, NV

When: Macbeth runs July 3 to August 23, 2026. The Heart of Robin Hood runs July 5 to August 21, 2026. Performances are at 7:30 PM on scheduled nights.

Cost: Tickets vary by date and seating. Check the official Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival ticket calendar for exact show dates and current pricing.

More North Shore Culture Worth Building a Trip Around

Lake Tahoe Dance Festival

The 14th annual Lake Tahoe Dance Festival brings professional dance performances to North Lake Tahoe for a run of community nights and galas.

Practical Notes

Sand Harbor is a state park and summer evenings are busy, so give yourself more arrival time than you think you need. Evenings cool off fast once the sun drops behind the ridge, so bring a layer even for a summer show. Classical Tahoe and the Lake Tahoe Dance Festival are both a short drive from Incline Village, so a culture-focused weekend on the North Shore is easy to string together.

Thinking About More Than a Lake View?

A stretch like this says a lot about the North Shore. It is not just beaches and boat days. It is theater at Sand Harbor, music in Incline Village, dance on the lake, and a lifestyle that keeps giving people reasons to stay a little longer. If you are wondering what owning around Incline Village or North Lake Tahoe actually looks like, I am happy to help you sort through the real tradeoffs before you get too far down one lane.
