Tahoe City knows how to make a June weekend easy to say yes to.

The Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic returns June 5 and 6, 2026, with a lakeside lineup that includes a Winemaker’s Dinner & Lake Tahoe Cruise, a Friday pre-party, and the main Wine Walk through downtown Tahoe City.

Here’s the weekend lineup, and what to know before you go.

The Lake Cruise Dinner, Because Wine Tastes Better With a Tahoe View

The newest addition to the Food & Wine Classic weekend is its most elevated experience.

On Thursday evening, guests board the Tahoe Gal for the Lake Cap Pier for a 2.5-hour cruise along the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. On board, a three-course dinner is paired with curated wine pairings and live music, prepared by KOLO TV chef Jonathan Chapin and Chef Danielle of Reno Recipes.

This is the kind of evening that makes Tahoe feel like a real destination. Tickets are $200 per person and are separate from the main Wine Walk admission.

Every Food & Wine weekend needs a pick-up-your-commemorative-glass-early-at-Boatworks-Mall-on-Friday-evening kind of start. Less frantic, more festive.

If you are arriving Friday, it is an easy and enjoyable way to open the weekend.

This is what the weekend was built around.

On Saturday afternoon, Wine Walk participants stroll through downtown Tahoe City along the scenic lakeside walkway, stopping at participating restaurants and caterers serving hand-selected wines and paired bites from acclaimed local vendors. Live music plays throughout. The walk is a fundraiser for the Tahoe City Downtown Association and typically sells out before the weekend arrives.

Your ticket includes the Wine Walk and commemorative glass. This event is 21+ throughout the weekend.

Where: Downtown Tahoe City, various venues along the lakeside walkway

When: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 1 to 4 p.m.

Tickets: $75, 21+ only, limited availability, visittahoecity.org or Eventbrite

Practical Notes for the Weekend

If you are coming from Truckee, the West Shore, or elsewhere around North Lake Tahoe, plan a little extra time for parking and walking.
For 2026, the event organizers added a complimentary shuttle and bike valet to make the weekend easier. That is a very Tahoe City move, and honestly, a smart one.
Friday is the smoother arrival night if you want to pick up your glass, get settled, and make Saturday feel less rushed.
The Wine Walk is the centerpiece, but the cruise dinner is the higher-touch experience. If you are making a full weekend out of it, those two together are the best pairing.

Thinking About More Than Wine Glasses?

A weekend like this says a lot about why people end up loving Tahoe City in the first place. It is walkable, lakefront, locally driven, and close to some of the best North Lake Tahoe lifestyle access.

The real estate side has the same nuance. Tahoe City, Dollar Point, the West Shore, Carnelian Bay, and nearby Truckee all offer different versions of the Tahoe lifestyle, with very different tradeoffs around price, access, rentals, snow, and day-to-day convenience.

If spending more time up here is starting to feel less like a weekend idea and more like a real plan, I’m happy to help you understand the local lanes before you get too far down one.
